Post-Traumatic Pulmonary Pneumatoceles: A Case Report

Road accidents are the main cause of serious injuries worldwide, accounting for over 10% trauma cases resulting in death or significant physical impairment. Thoracic injuries, on other hand, responsible a quarter all trauma-related deaths. In such cases, pneumothorax is most common thoracic injury, affecting 30 to 40% patients with trauma. This injury occurs twice as often closed traumas penetrating traumas. However, post-traumatic pulmonary pneumatocele very rare condition that mostly children and young adults. It’s sequelae acute pneumonia barotrauma from alveolar hyperpressure context glottis trauma.
 Recognizing these quickly can save lives, whether patient outside modern intensive care unit.
 The reported case an 8-year-old female child no medical history, delayed growth development, who was involved public road accident impact. She presented hemoptysis chest pain, CT scan revealed bilateral parenchymal contusions predominantly right, pneumatoceles right side blade, good progress under surveillance, oxygen therapy, prophylactic antibiotic treatment.
